NSFAS Accommodation Pilot Project
Elangeni TVET College is proud to be part of the NSFAS Accommodation Pilot Project, which aims to address the urgent accommodation needs of TVET College students. Recognising the often substandard living conditions faced by many students in the TVET sector, this initiative was launched to provide safe, reliable, and convenient housing options.
Overview
The project utilises a platform managed by Xequal, a company that acts as a bridge between private accommodators and students in need of housing. Through this platform, we have been able to connect with numerous private accommodation providers in close proximity to our campuses. As a result, we have successfully placed around 900 students in quality residences that meet their needs. Currently, the following campuses are participating in the NSFAS Accommodation Pilot Project:
- Pinetown
- KwaDabeka
- Qadi
- KwaMashu
Our goal is to extend this project to all eight of our campuses, with Inanda, Ntuzuma and Ndwedwe Campus as the next potential additions.

Future Plans
Elangeni TVET College is committed to expanding this project to ensure that all our students have access to suitable accommodation. We are continuously working with Xequal and private accommodators to increase the availability of student housing across all our campuses. By doing so, we aim to create a supportive environment that enhances the overall educational experience for our students.
