Elangeni TVET College proudly announces the official launch of the Artisan & Skills Development Centre on Thursday, 28 May 2026.This landmark event marks a major milestone in advancing technical and vocational education, artisan development, renewable energy training, and economic empowerment in KwaZulu-Natal.The launch reflects the College’s commitment to equipping students with practical, future-focused skills that respond directly to industry demand and national development priorities.
About the Launch

The official opening of the Centre introduces a modern training environment designed to bridge the gap between education and production. Through hands-on learning, industry partnerships, and innovative training models, students will gain the competencies required to thrive in a competitive and evolving economy.This eventwill also showcase the new Photovoltaic Workshop, positioning Elangeni TVET College at the forefront of renewable energy and green skills training.This integrated facility is designed to produce artisans, technicians, entrepreneurs, and future-ready graduates who can contribute meaningfully to South Africa’s growth.
The launch will be further distinguished by the Keynote Address by the Minister of Higher Education and Training Mr Buti Manamela, whose presence underscores the national importance of artisan development, technical skills advancement, and investment in future-ready training institutions.
In addition, the event will feature a Career Exhibition by ETVET of their programmes and offerings, providing students and visitors with direct access to valuable information on funding support, skills development initiatives, artisan pathways, and career advancement opportunities.Various SETA partners and stakeholders are invited to add by showcasing various programmes opportunities in education, training, employment pathways, bursaries, apprenticeships, and workplace learning.

Renewable Energy Training Centre: Powering the Future

As part of the launch, the College will also unveil its dedicated Photovoltaic Workshop, created to train students in solar energy systems, installation techniques, maintenance, and sustainable energy solutions.This initiative aligns with South Africa’s growing demand for renewable energy expertise and opens new opportunities for employment, enterprise development, and innovation in the green economy.The workshop has been made possible through a valuable partnership with EWSETA and Chinese Culture.
